Sara grew up training, competing and performing at Marr-Mac Dance and Theatre Arts in dance forms such as Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical, Musical Theatre and Hip-Hop training under Cathy and Marie McFarlane and Nicole Schultz in addition to competing with her own choreography. She has also spent a number of years training and competing at Kore Dance Studio under international talent such as Alexander Chung and Carlo Atienza. In addition, she has trained at Eye Candy Studios directed by Vince Akinyode. Sara has also been a part of the Cool Giraffes dance crew under the direction of Randall Mella and Thomas Boivin where they competed nationally and internationally at the Hip Hop International dance competition including winning first place at the Canadian Championships in 2019. Her global training experiences include talents such as tWitch, Nappytabs, Lorena Valenzuela, Nico O’Connor, Vinh Nguyen, and Laurence Kaiwai. Sara has a Bachelor of the Arts in Psychology and Film Studies from the University of Alberta and is a full-time Master’s student in Sociocultural Kinesiology at the U of A. Her research is focused on how social media impacts the well-being of elite dancers.
